the-elm's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chronicles of a bored intern Okay, since I’m at the world’s most boring internship EVER (what was I thinking??), I have decided that to keep myself occupied and to appear as if I am actually doing something of real substance besides learning how to be a gangsta at Uncyclopedia, I am going to attempt to chronicle my days as an intern. (You should expect this to be my first and last entry – hahah). So anyway, today’s my second day.. Apparently I’m supposed to be “envisioning” the future of ICI Pakistan as we speak, and though I spent the last hour or so waiting for some sort of epiphany to dawn upon me, in the end I have come up empty. Now that I thinking about it, watching 10 hours of television and pigging out at home was TONS more fun than this.. The only perk here is that I actually get to socialize. Ever since my move from Lahore to Karachi I’ve been bored senseless.. I miss my home, I miss my friends and I miss having actual things to do. So, in a moment of desperation I begged and pleaded with my father for him to arrange for me to be an intern at ICI. And, well, here I am. Day number 2 ladies and gentlemen. I can’t wait for the lunch break! That is definitely the highlight of the day. Although right now I’m just grateful that my desi romeo, a Karachi mela and fellow intern also working here is absent today. All day yesterday I was trying to get away from him, but no matter where I went – my desk, the halls, the first floor, the cafeteria – there he was. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’ve been trying to be as polite as possible and everything (maybe that’s where I’m going wrong), but at the same time I’ve been trying to send the hint that I NEED MY PERSONAL SPACE.
